Attaching Through Trauma

Creating healthy attachments after processing so much dysregulation can be very difficult. It may almost seem impossible. I’m here to tell you that it in fact is possible no matter how far into trauma you are.

Realization

Today I had an epiphany. In life when we create bonds with one another, we tend to think that “meant to be” means forever. However meant to be can consist of many ranges of time. Sometimes things in life end sooner rather than later. But this doesn’t discredit the process of “meant to be”. It’s important to recognize that absolutely nothing in life is forever, whether it’s for a little while or a lifelong commitment, every season in your life has been filled with purpose and built with intent.

Food For Thought

I myself have experienced plenty of trauma throughout my life thus far. Rather that being through betrayal, abandonment, or some circumstances simply being created through my own doing. However, for a long time I struggled with letting go of the things I love most in life. This was out of fear of my feelings of fulfillment being cut short.

Moral of the story

A very important part of maintaining healthy connections is being able to allow God to maintain the pace of it. When God gives you something in life you have to be able to trust God and be flexible enough to give it back. When you love something you have to be able to let it go, other wise you’ll turn what God meant for beautiful into something sinful and unhealthy. Trusting God with what he has given you will ensure the most fulfilling experience you could ever hope for. And that fulfillment could never be cut short.
